Applications open for the new class of BTP Com Elas

Free course for women about the port sector is accepting registrations through May 10.

Santos, May 4, 2026 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP) is accepting applications for the new class of BTP Com Elas, a free course on the port sector designed for women. The initiative, now in its third year, aims to contribute to the integration of women into the workforce by promoting training and is part of the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program.

This year, 30 positions are available for the new BTP Com Elas class, and those interested in participating in the selection process can apply through the company’s website by May 10. To apply, candidates must reside in the Baixada Santista region, be at least 18 years old, have completed high school, and be available to attend in-person classes over the coming months.

BTP’s Human Resources Manager, Claudio Scalise, notes that BTP Com Elas is a pioneering social initiative in the region and in the port sector. “The great social legacy of BTP Com Elas is to genuinely contribute to the inclusion of women in the workforce, especially at the Port of Santos, through training and by strengthening the port-city relationship. More than 100 women from the Baixada Santista region have already graduated over the past two years, an example that shows us we are on the right path in promoting diversity and inclusion in the port sector,” he explains.

Course 100% taught by women – One of the unique features of BTP Com Elas is the opportunity to learn from women who are already working in the port sector. All classes for the initiative take place within BTP and are 100% taught by a team of women employees of the container terminal volunteering their expertise. During the classes, participants learn, through theoretical activities, group dynamics, and discussion circles, about topics such as: port operations, leadership, financial management, technology and innovation, psychological safety, sustainability, security, communication, project management, and self-awareness, among others. Participants also take a tour of the terminal’s operations, which are located in the Alemoa neighborhood (in Santos) and are considered one of the largest container terminals in Latin America and a benchmark for port operations at the Port of Santos.

Talent Pool – Upon completing the course, participants will also have the opportunity to add their resumes to the BTP Com Elas Talent Pool, making them available for review by all companies affiliated with the Santos Commercial Association (ACS). This opportunity is made possible through a cooperation agreement signed between BTP and ACS in 2025, as Claudio Scalise explains. “The cooperation agreement established a broad network of contacts that exponentially expands employment opportunities for women trained through the BTP Com Elas program,” states BTP’s HR manager.

The cooperation agreement signed between the institutions involves the creation and maintenance of a Talent Bank containing the resumes of women who have completed the BTP Com Elas program, so that companies in the Baixada Santista region—which are members of the ACS and are also committed to diversity and inclusion—can seek out and hire professionals who are already interested in working in the logistics and port sectors.
