BTP reinforces its legacy of socioeconomic development by completing 12 years of operation at the Port of Santos
Santos, November 28, 2025 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP), one of the largest container terminals in Latin America, celebrates 12 years of operation in the Port of Santos with a legacy of positive impact on the socioeconomic development of the Baixada Santista region and the promotion of national port infrastructure. Throughout its history, the company has established itself as a benchmark in port operations based on sustainability, innovation, excellence, and safety.
Among the most recent examples of BTP's contributions are, in 2025 alone, the delivery of the 1st Polyclinic of Vila Gilda and the new Rádio Clube Community Center for the city of Santos, the strengthening of the port-city relationship with the acquisition of a historic building in downtown Santos for revitalization and use as a new administrative headquarters, its pioneering spirit in becoming the first Brazilian container terminal with the highest number of female on-board operators, and its commitment to sustainability recognized by the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) during COP30 with the Diamond category Sustainability Seal.
BTP's CEO Cláudio Oliveira reveals his pride in leading the company at this time of celebration. "In these 12 years of operation at the Port of Santos, our actions have been guided by the desire to build a lasting and relevant legacy for the port sector and for future generations. We have continuously invested in our terminal, created opportunities for professional training, implemented new technologies, and followed good sustainable practices that, looking to the future, will contribute to our focus on growth, innovation, and decarbonization of the terminal, while maintaining our operational excellence and prioritizing safety and respect for people," he explains.
BTP is experiencing an important moment in its history with the implementation of a R$ 2 billion investment package that will increase the operational capacity of the container terminal and, in synergy with its ESG guidelines, will drive the decarbonization of operations and encourage the creation of more jobs in the Baixada Santista region.
BTP, a container terminal located on the right bank of the Port of Santos, has the capacity to handle 1,5 million TEUs per year and to receive 3,900 trucks for loading or unloading every 24 hours. To handle this movement, around 1,900 employees, from the office to large port operating equipment, take turns day and night in an activity that never stops and keeps Brazil in constant motion and growth.
