BTP operates vessel ONE Synergy with excellence during call at Port of Santos

Santos, February 18, 2026 – On its maiden voyage along the Brazilian coast, the ONE Synergy, a container vessel owned by Ocean Network Express (ONE), called on February 5 at the Port of Santos, the largest port in Latin America. The operation of the vessel, with a capacity of over 13,000 TEU, was handled by Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP), one of the largest container terminals in Latin America and a reference in port operations at the Port of Santos.

According to BTP CEO Cláudio Oliveira, the operation of the ONE Synergy on its maiden voyage is a special moment for BTP and for the entire Port of Santos. “In addition to bringing more capacity for cargo handling in such an important trade for Brazil, this new vessel also fosters innovation and is in synergy with sustainability, which is one of our key principles for the future,” he says. BTP has a energy transition plan to become carbon zero by 2030, which includes, among other initiatives, the acquisition of new and modern electrified port operating equipment. For instance, the company will transition from 30 diesel-powered RTGs (rubber-tired gantry cranes) to a total fleet of 57 electric units in the coming years.

In addition to these investments, BTP's CCO, Ricardo Trotti, also highlights efficiency, continuous improvement in processes, and professional development as the company's competitive advantages for operating vessels such as the ONE Synergy. “BTP is prepared to receive and operate the new classes of container vessels because it has, in addition to infrastructure equivalent to the best ports in the world, a highly qualified team focused on operations with high productivity and safety rates,” he points out.

History of excellence – This is not the first time that BTP has received vessels that are part of the history of the Port of Santos at its berths. BTP's Customer Relations Coordinator, Tiago Falasca, recalls that four years ago, the container terminal was also responsible for operating the ONE Amazon on its maiden voyage in the largest port in Latin America. “For us, these operations demonstrate the confidence of shipowners in our work and reflect our level of excellence in serving customers with differentiated and innovative solutions,” he concludes.

After the successful operation at BTP, the lady ONE Synergy left the Port of Santos on January 6 and continued on its route to the Port of Singapore.
