BTP handles the world’s largest bell with efficiency and safety

Santos, May 17, 2025 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP), one of the largest container terminals in South America, successfully carried out a historic operation with the arrival of the vessel ‘San Raphael’ on the afternoon of May 17. The vessel brought to Brazil the Vox Patris bell, considered as the largest clapper bell in the world.

The Voss Patris is a bell of monumental proportion with four meters tall and 55 tons. Manufactured in Poland and destined for the city of Trindade, in the state of Goiás, the bell was unloaded at Latin America’s largest port through a highly coordinated operation, showcasing BTP’s technical expertise and operational excellence.

Eduardo Alonso Linna, BTP’s General Manager of Operations, noted that preparations began months in advance. “This was a historic and highly significant operation, executed in full alignment with our standards of efficiency and total safety,” he stated.

Following its arrival, the Vox Patris bell will continue its journey to Trindade, in the state of Goiás, where it will be installed in the belfry of the new Santuário do Divino Pai Eterno. Alongside it, two smaller bells — St. Luke and St. John — were also unloaded with the same precision and will be placed at the same religious site.
