BTP e ACS sign partnership to promote women’s employability in the logistics and port sectors

A Cooperation Agreement signed between the two institutions provides for the creation and maintenance of a talent pool featuring résumés of women graduated through the “BTP Com Elas” program.

Santos, August 18, 2025 – Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP) and the Santos Trade Association (ACS) signed a cooperation agreement last Wednesday (August 13), in the presence of more than 500 people, aimed at expanding professional opportunities for women in the logistics and port sectors. The partnership between the two institutions includes the creation and maintenance of a talent pool composed of résumés from women who graduated from the BTP Com Elas program, which will be made available to all ACS member companies.

The initiative by BTP and ACS seeks to encourage companies in the Baixada Santista region that are committed to diversity and inclusion to recruit professionals who are already qualified and interested in pursuing careers in the logistics and port sectors. Claudio Scalise, Human Resources Manager at BTP and the creator of both the cooperation agreement and the BTP Com Elas program, highlights the significance of the partnership for the sector: “It’s gratifying to see BTP Com Elas gaining relevance among the women in our community and reaching new spaces, being recognized by an association with such reach in our sector as ACS. It’s a confirmation that we’re on the right path in this crucial agenda for the Port, which is diversity,” he says.

Yara Motta, BTP’s Communications and Marketing Manager, who also played an active role in building the partnership, adds: “opportunities like this - ones that create connections beyond business - only happen when there is strong intentionality and purpose. The idea for this partnership came out of a recent conversation and was only made possible thanks to the genuine commitment from everyone involved at both ACS and BTP. It’s truly rewarding to see the BTP Com Elas program reaching new spaces.

For Karina Keller, BTP’s Human Resources Coordinator, the cooperation agreement establishes a broad network of connections and exponentially expands employability opportunities for the 110 women already graduated. “With BTP Com Elas, we offer a free two-month training course inside our container terminal for women seeking opportunities in the job market. It’s a pioneering social initiative, launched two years ago, that genuinely contributes to women's inclusion through learning and the strengthening of the port-city relationship,” she explains.

According to Eliane Sammarco, President of the Council for Women Entrepreneurs and Culture (CMEC Santos), this partnership is a starting point for a series of synergies that can further expand opportunities for women. “The partnership with BTP is more than a formal agreement - it’s a concrete step toward transforming the landscape of female employability in our region, especially in the logistics and port sectors. When we join forces with companies that share values such as diversity, inclusion, and talent appreciation, we build bridges that broaden horizons for many women. The talent pool being formed is just the beginning of a network of opportunities we hope to see grow, generate impact, and inspire other institutions to get involved. The Port of Santos is the largest in Latin America and, for that reason, has both the responsibility and the potential to open more doors for women to claim their space and actively participate in the economic and social development of our city and our country.”

ACS, which brings together companies and institutions from a wide range of sectors, including logistics and port operations, is a driving force for business and employability opportunities in the Baixada Santista region.

The Cooperation Agreement between BTP and ACS was signed during the “Poder Delas” Summit, organized by the Council for Women Entrepreneurs and Culture (CMEC Santos) and the Santos Trade Association (ACS), on August 13 at the Santos Municipal Theater, featuring prominent names in entrepreneurship, leadership, diversity, and female digital influence.
